Re: Safety of Work for Work in High Places,
from Falling Objects and Erosions
  1. Intention of the Law
    1. To prevent employees from falling from high places of all sorts i.e., from rooftops, balconies or other openings and to prevent employees from falling while performing solitary duties.
    2. To prevent falls during work time or falls from ascending to steep heights.
    3. To prevent falls into containers such as ponds, funnels or tanks.
    4. To prevent the erosion of stones, land, sand or other material from high places, i.e., applicable for work done in pipes, hollows, tunnels, caves, ponds as well as in construction work and work concerning the transport of goods from high places by means of throwing.

  2. Framework and Enforcement of the Law
    To have effect on all undertakings with 1 or more employee.


  3. Main Points of the Law
    1. The employer is to prevent his employee from falling from high places or falling into containers of sorts by employing measures such as installing safety rails, safety nets or belts on scaffolds or prohibiting the employee from working in storms, strong winds or rain.
    2. The employer is to prevent employees working in places of steep heights at an angle of more than 15-30 degrees from the ground from falling by means of employing scaffolds, belts or other safety gear. Also, the employer is to make sure that ladders or benches used on the job are in good condition and that they are employed in the proper manner.
    3. The employer is to set up preventive measures against the erosion of material by using proper angles of construction or proper support, etc. in transporting objects from high places, the transport area must be covered and rails, funnels or other safety modes of transport be employed.
    4. The employee is to make use of protective construction hats to protect them from the danger of falling objects.
